How To Embrace Your Culture And Your Children (The Latino Community’s Phenomenon)
Posted by La Alemana con Alma Latina at February 4th, 2012
The dynamics of the relationship between fathers and sons are very special and cause opportunities to grow for both, father and son. In the interview with Steven Acosta, I learned more about this special relationship. His Colombian ancestors prepared him for a life of success. His dad came to the USA learning the language starting as a Western Union operator and ending his career as the VP of Latin America after 30 years of service.
Steven is one of three kids and was sent to Colombia for the summers for his first 12 years of his life. This helped to ingrain the Colombian culture into him.
Steven lost his mom at the age of 13 which impacted his life quite a bit as you will hear in the interview. He sees himself as a representative of Colombia. A trivia fact: He is married to a gringa who is a bilingual social worker.
